I’ve missed the last two photo challenges, but in my defense, I’ve been trying to follow the rules. Or at least what I perceive to be the rules. And since the kind folks at The Daily Post pose their challenges on Friday, I am decidedly late to the party.
This week’s challenge was to make an image that says “renewal” to you – trying to avoid clichéd choices like birth and sunrises. I’ve chosen this shot. I think we usually get morose in the fall, focus on saying goodbye (I include myself here, too – I’m not name-calling). Even though this milkweed has lived to the end of its days, those fuzzy seeds will blow away and start anew in the spring.

Milkweed pods and their inner milky thistle and the sweet seeds….ahhhh….how I love them. We only can find certain patches of milkweed around here. It’s not like it’s all around, so I super appreciate it when it reveals itself. Yes, renewal. And sunsets, too. Happy Thanksgiving, Heather!
We seem to have milkweed dotted here and there. It’s not all over, but not hard to come by either. I always think it would make good pillow stuffing. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too
Don’t be shy counting sunset to renewals, there are a lot of things undergoing renewal at night, the night included.
I like the thought that the night is undergoing renewal. I was only discounting the sunset because of the description on the challenge – I find sunrises and sunsets to be the ultimate sign of renewal, perhaps along with a fresh rain and birth.
