Weekly Photo Challenge: Green

This week’s photo challenge from the Daily Post is a multi-photo collage of what means “green.” I’ve rounded up many of my favorites, and what I notice is that blue often accompanies green in my pictures thanks to the lakes up here, and also: I really don’t miss that cast.

We are in the throes of a bathroom renovation, and while things are going well, I can’t say they’re going smoothly. Does any renovation? We pulled up the floor, which was on top of a splintery subfloor (which was rotting slowly near the shower), which was on top of a floral, orange-ish linoleum, which was on top of some tiles like those in schools, which was on top of the old, original floors. So that was fun. Additionally, the electric installation included a junction box buried in the wall – not to code, and something we’ll be fixing.

There is good news though: after spending a couple hours last night trying to get the hot water working to the downstairs bathroom (has a bath tub only, and the hot water hasn’t worked to the tub since last summer…we’re obviously not “bath” people), Dad drilled some new holes the mixing valve this morning, returning its functionality. Though I can’t shower, I enjoyed a hot bath tonight and am counting that as a win.  I’ll share photos sometime, but in the mean time, please wish us luck 🙂

And now the Green Gallery:

    • Thank you Wendy. I know it will be worth it, but I’ll admit to having dreams about bucket flushing the toilet and having problems. Can’t wait to be done and we just started 😉

  5. I can’t pick a favorite…love them all. They are a little bit of ‘up north’ and that is something I always love to see. Good luck with the bathroom. We spent months living in the laundry room and cooking in an electric wok when we redid this house. Not fun. Not even an adventure. Mostly drudgery. I wish you good luck and a speedy rebuild!

  7. A hot bath is the bestest. Your green challenge turned out beautifully. The only green in this world today are the evergreens hoping no one will cut them down for Christmas. Did I tell you Happy Thanksgiving already? Happy T-day to you and Tony!

    • A hot bath is nice, but I am looking forward to a hot shower 🙂 We’ve still got green grass, but it’s fading. I hope you and Barry enjoyed your day together! Happy Thanksgiving once again 🙂

Share your thoughts. I'd love to hear from you :)
