While Tony and I were exploring Michigan’s northwest coast and its little towns on Sunday, I had kept this week’s photo challenge theme in the back of my mind: beyond. The goal was to take a photo that encourage a viewer to want to look beyond. I tried to accomplish this by focusing on something detailed in the foreground while having something interesting in the background that’s out of focus. These are my three favorites from the day, with an extra view included in case you really did want to see beyond, through the distance π
Good job on the challenge. I like these.
Thanks Yvonne. I had a great time taking them π Photography is a fantastic excuse to get outside when it’s really just too cold to be out doing much.
Nice work! You hit the theme perfectly. I love the one with the birch trees, and the one with the snow covered fence- very cool!
Thank you lizzehbear π I think that the iced fence looks much more prohibitive than its warm-weather counterpart…also much more photo worthy!
Fabulous pics Heather……!
Thanks Munira! Can you tell how much I love the winters here? π
Your enthusiasm is palpable! π

Oh so beautiful! Like Munira just said–your enthusiasm for winter always inspires me. Always. (Well, almost always…) *grin*
I’m glad it always, sometimes, maybe inspires you Kathy. I often hear from my more southern friends/family that my photos look cold, which to me indicates: I’m glad it’s you and not me π
Great beyond photography π
Thank you for stopping my and for the comment!
LOVE the fence with the turquoise water behind it! Wonderful, all of them.
Dawn, that fence is at family favorite Pt. Betsie. Isn’t the lake water amazing? (Even when it’s tucked behind an unwelcoming icy fence!)
