It’s Monday here for about another hour, and I have a lot of mushroom photos to share – so you get Mushroom Monday. š
In between yet more storms and dressed for fall (all the layers: jacket, hat, light gloves…), we did lots of hiking this weekend. Seems like the weather hasn’t been very cooperative for much else – too windy for kayaking, and far too cold for diving. But, at least we have lots of beautiful places to explore on foot. I’ll check back in soon with some hiking images/stories. In the meantime, here are some of my favorite mushrooms from along the trails.
Have a great week! (I’ll be checking into all the blogs I’ve missed just as soon as I get my feed-reader working again!)
Your photos are really stunning. They are so rich with color and detail.
Thank you Charlie! I really love making photos, and I’m glad others get enjoyment from it too.
Very nice mushrooms! I saw a whole colony of tiny little mushrooms beside my birdseed can Sunday afternoon. I have a whole lot of photos too! Great minds think alike.
I’m not sure while they’re so cool, but they are. One of our neighbors has a hillside just covered in them. I think they’re Shaggy Maines, but that’s from a distance. Anyway, very cool.
Oh, Heather, these are gorgeous. You did a wonderful job of capturing their beauty. I think I’ll have to go back and have another look. š If you have more I could enjoy Mushroom Tuesday, too.
Yikes I sure got lax on the commentary here
We took off a day from work, and then things just snowballed. I’m finally feeling back on top of things. I doubt I’ll get to a “Mushroom Tuesday,” but I’m sure more fungus will be sneaking into future posts.
Great shots of mushrooms. An extraordinary piece of nature, nicely done. š
I’m sorry to hear about you’re feeder/reader. It gets very annoying when supposed upgrades create a nuisance. Having worked with computers for many years, I’ve come to the conclusion that they must be very patiently understood, sympathized with, mercilessly beaten into submission and have their peripherals cut off. š Well one can dream.
With Tony being a programmer, I know that even the best-planned updates do not go off without a hitch. But the feed-reader is back in business š
A feed-reader sounds like something that you give to intelligent squirrels. š
It’s amazing, the many different kinds of mushrooms and other fungi. Yours are beautiful captures!
Thanks Carol. They come out every year, and every year I feel compelled to take shots. I’m keeping far fewer of them these days – trying to let go of some of my photo hoarding š But I sure love sharing them.
I am still giggling over “Mushroom Monday”. ha ha ha. Anyway, hasn’t it been quite the year for mushrooms? A mushroom-wild friend over in Baraga said it’s been the best year she’s seen in ages. You photographed the little sweeties beautifully.
New horizons. We can now do this. Just paste in the URL.

Hiya, there is one in moderation (it has a link). š
You make mushrooms look good!
I just can’t help myself. They are so photogenic š
